Second Euro-Mediterranean Meeting of Families of Disappeared
The Euro-Mediterranean Federation against Enforced Disappearances (FEMED) will hold the Second Euro-Mediterranean Meeting of Families of Disappeared focussed on the theme: The Convention against Enforced Disappearances, the challange of Euro-Mediterratean countries. This meeting will take place in Rabat, Morocco.
After the opening night on the 12th of June, the second and third days (13th and 14th of June) will be dedicated to training sessions and information on the International Convention for the Protection of All Persons against Enforced, its genesis, its content and use, so that a discussion on transitional justice process which Morocco has experienced. In addition to the urgent need to shed light on the fate of all missing, FEMED has set several goals. These goals and their methods of implementation will be presented at the end of the third day of the meeting. The FEMED hopes this opportunity to collect new adhesions.
This meeting, which will also provide an opportunity for organizations working on the issue of enforced disappearances in the Euro-Mediterranean region to share their experiences, meet people from different backgrounds: experts, professors, activists and families of disappeared and to give testimonies and interventions on issues of the ratification of an international instrument prohibiting forced disappearances.
