Resumen:
La Comisión de la verdad y de la reconciliación (CVR) era un cuerpo similar a una corte operativo en Suráfrica después del final del apartheid. Cualquiera que sentía que había sido una víctima de la violencia podía presentarse ante la CVR y ser escuchado/a. Los autores de la violencia podían también dar testimonio y solicitar amnistía. La CVR fue vista por muchos como un componente crucial en la transición a una democracia completa y libre en Suráfrica y, a pesar de algunos defectos, - aunque no universalmente - considerada como un éxito.
