The struggle for survival and dignity: human rights abuses against indigenous peoples in Colombia

Amnesty International

2010, Amnesty International:

The impact of Colombia’s long-running internal armed conflict on Indigenous Peoples has been profound and destructive. They have been killed, harassed and driven from their lands by all the parties to the conflict. Despite their determined refusal to be drawn into the hostilities, the threats facing Indigenous Peoples are intensifying. In this document Amnesty International urges all parties to the conflict to respect the rights of civilians not to be dragged into the hostilities and to respect the territories in which Indigenous Peoples live and on which they rely for their livelihoods.
