248 disappearances have been denounced, from which 151 have been clarified and 97 remain outstanding.
NGOs Numbers
Inconclusive figures. According to the NGO AFAPREDESA only in occupied saharawi territories the several hundred people have disappeared.
Context
According to the UNWGEID the majority of the 248 cases denounced occurred between 1972 and 1980. Most of the concerned persons of Sharan origin who reportdly disappearaed in territories under the control of the Moroccan forces, suspected of supporting the Polisario Front.
