Context
Five of the six cases denounced happened in 1999and concerned members of the Lao Students Movement for Democracy. It seems that they were arrested by the police during a demonstration in Vientiane. The sixth case concerns the leader of a group of repatriates. Four of this cases have been clarified with information provided by the people who denounced the disappearances. The last report of the UNGWEID states that the Government has replied on one case communicating that the Lao authorities had no further information than that already provided.
