Ending Impunity by Seeking Justice Through the Courts

The association Families of Victims of Involuntary Disappearance of the Philippines (FIND) hold a summing-up conference on the court cases it has assisted in Trento, Agusan del Sur. Later a two-day internal action planning

With the occasion of the victory on July 18, 2008 of families of victims of enforced disappearance in Trento, Agusan del Sur, FIND is preparing a summoning up conference of this cases. The purpose is that the lessons gathered from the conference will also further enrich the proposed Anti-Enforced Disappearance Act now being deliberated upon by both Houses of Congress. The efficacy of the remedies provided by the Writs of Amparo and of Habeas data in searching for the missing and of seeking justice through the court shall also be discussed

Also a two-day detailed internal action planning will also take place to focus on expediting the current cases being supported, possible filing of other cases, and coming out with recommendations for the proposed Anti-Enforced Disappearance Act.
