International Convention ratified now by 20 states

The International Convention for the Protection of all Persons against enforced disappearances was ratified yesterday 23rd of November by the Republic of Iraq.

The convention will enter into force on the 23rd of December, 30 days after the 20th ratification, as by stablished in article 39 (1). Six months after the entry into force of the convention, the Committee against disappearances will be formed.
