International Convention ratified now by 20 states

The International Convention for the Protection of all Persons against enforced disappearances was ratified yesterday 23rd of November by Iraq. This is the 20th and last ratification necessary for the entry into force of this international treaty.

The convention will enter into force on the 23rd of Dicember as by stablished in article 39 (1). Six months after the entry into force of the convention, the Committee against disappearances will be formed.
