Sri Lanka: Tamil Children "being abducted"
The Coalition to Stop the Use of Child Soldiers says a number of children in camps for people displaced by Sri Lanka's Tamil conflict have been abducted. The coalition (Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch in between others) has have verified reports of disappearances in the Vavuniya area and are calling for the United Nations to investigate. It seems that the motive for these disappearances is still unclear. Some children are taken away for ransom, others to be questioned about their alleged link to the LTTE. Sri Lanka's military denied the allegations, describing them as yet another attempt to discredit the government.
