Zimbabwe: Abducted Pastor released unharmed

Pastor Berejena abducted on monday the 25th of May by unidentified individuals in a white vehicle has been released unharmed on Wednesday the 27th of May.

Pastor Bereneja is known to be close to Prime Minister Tsvangiarai. The circumstances of the abduction are sketchy, however it is believed the Central Intelligence Organisation is behind the abduction. This type of abduction whereby the victim is located days after is a well-known tactic of harassment. Even though the victim is located after a number of days, if the State is known to be involved directly or indirectly, the abduction qualifies as an enforced disappearance.
