Zimbabwe: Prosecution of Jestina Mukoko and eight other human rights activist ended

Zimbabwe's Supreme Court ordered a permanent stay of the criminal proceedings against Jestina Mukoko and eight other human rights activists ended last Monday 28th of September. The director of the Zimbabwe Peace Project (ZPP) and the other activists were facing criminal proceedings on charges of recruiting people for training as insurgents or saboteurs. They were accused of trying to topple Mugabe’s regime. The activists are now suing the Zimbabwean government for $500m because they had been beaten and tortured.
